2. Beta Testing NoticeLexa is currently available for beta testing through Apple TestFlight. During beta testing, features may change, some features may be incomplete, and the data processed by the app may change before public release.This Privacy Policy describes the Services as they currently operate for the beta version of the app.Apple may separately process information relating to TestFlight participation, app installation, crashes, and beta feedback under Apple's own terms and privacy policies. We do not currently operate our own crash reporting, analytics event logging, advertising tracking, or marketing attribution system in the beta version of the app.
3. Who Can Use the App and ChildrenLexa is not directed at young children. Younger users may use the app with parent or guardian consent where required by applicable law.During onboarding, we may ask users to select an age range. The youngest available age range in the current app is 13–17. Lexa is not intended to be targeted specifically at children under 13.If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should use the Services only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.We do not knowingly collect personal data from children where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law. If you believe that a child has provided personal data to us unlawfully, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to investigate and, where required, delete the information.
4. What Personal Data We CollectWe collect personal data that you provide directly, personal data generated through your use of the Services, and limited data from third-party sign-in providers.A. Account and sign-in informationWhen you create or use an account, we may collect:- your name

- account-linked settings and preferences relevant to the learning systemD. Notifications and remindersIf you enable reminders, the app requests permission to send notifications. These may include alerts, sounds, and badges.We use your reminder preferences and reminder schedule to provide learning reminders. You can manage notification permissions through your device settings.E. Widgets and local device dataThe app stores some data locally on your device to make the app work properly. This may include learning progress, preferences, daily state, reminder state, review state, and widget-related data.If you use widgets, the app may store a small widget snapshot and widget preferences in shared App Group storage so that the widget can display today's word or a fallback message. The current widget is intended to display today's word only, not your full learning history, favourites, or detailed progress.F. Support and feedbackIf you contact us or send feedback, we may collect the content of your message, your email address, and any information you choose to include.In the current beta version, Account → Support → Send feedback opens your email client with a prefilled email draft. You choose whether to send that email.G. Subscription and purchase-related informationSubscriptions and paid features are not currently active in the beta version of the app.The app may include RevenueCat code or configuration for future subscription support. If subscriptions or paid features are enabled in a future version, we may process limited subscription and entitlement information, such as subscription status, entitlement status, purchase or restore status, and identifiers or records needed to link subscription access to an account.Payment card details would be processed by Apple through Apple's in-app purchase system, not by us.

6. How We Use Your Personal DataWe use your personal data to provide, operate, protect, and improve the Services. In particular, we may use your personal data to:- create, authenticate, and manage your account
- allow you to sign in through Apple, Google, or email/password sign-in
- store and sync your learning profile, progress, and review state
- maintain saved words, favourites, streaks, collections used, and other account-linked learning records
- personalise your learning experience based on your onboarding choices and activity in the Services
- provide widgets that display today's word
- send learning reminder notifications if you enable them
- respond to feedback, questions, and support requests
- maintain the security, integrity, performance, and reliability of the Services
- investigate misuse, fraud, or other harmful or unlawful activity
- comply with legal and regulatory obligations
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claimsWe do not currently use your personal data for marketing emails, targeted advertising, advertising attribution, or third-party analytics event tracking.
7. Legal Bases for ProcessingWhere the UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases to process your personal data:- Performance of a contract: where processing is necessary to provide the Services to you, including account creation, authentication, learning history, favourites, streaks, reminders, widgets, account deletion, and core app functionality.
- Legitimate interests: where processing is reasonably necessary for our legitimate interests, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms. This includes operating and securing the Services, responding to support issues, preventing misuse, maintaining account integrity, and improving the reliability and quality of the Services.
- Consent: where required, for example if you enable push notifications or where a particular permission or feature requires consent under applicable law. You can withdraw consent where applicable, although this will not affect processing already carried out lawfully before withdrawal.
- Legal obligation: where processing is necessary to comply with legal obligations, regulatory requirements, lawful requests, or recordkeeping duties.
8. Sharing Data and Third-Party ServicesWe do not sell your personal data.We may share personal data only where reasonably necessary to operate the Services, comply with law, or protect our rights. This may include sharing with the following providers:- Firebase Authentication, provided through Firebase/Google, to support account authentication
- Cloud Firestore, provided through Firebase/Google, to store account, onboarding, and learning-state data
- Google Sign-In, if you choose to sign in with Google
- Sign in with Apple, if you choose to sign in with Apple
- Apple, in connection with TestFlight distribution and Apple platform services
- RevenueCat, included for future subscription and entitlement management if paid features are enabled in a later versionThese providers may process personal data on our behalf or as part of providing the relevant services to you.We may also disclose personal data where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or lawful request; detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity; protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our users, or others; enforce our terms, policies, or legal rights; or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale, reorganisation, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.Some parts of the Services rely on third-party platforms or providers that have their own privacy practices and policies. We encourage you to review the policies of those providers where relevant. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data in connection with the Services.
9. Data Storage Location and International TransfersAccount, onboarding, and learning-progress data stored in Cloud Firestore is currently hosted in London, United Kingdom, using Google Cloud's europe-west2 region.This does not mean that all personal data connected to the Services is stored only in London. Other service-related data processed by Firebase, Google, Apple, TestFlight, authentication providers, or future subscription infrastructure may be processed in other countries according to those providers' infrastructure, terms, and privacy policies.Some of our service providers may process personal data outside the United Kingdom or the country where you are located. As a result, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws.Where applicable, we take steps intended to ensure that personal data transferred internationally is protected by appropriate safeguards required under applicable law.
10. Retention, Account Deletion, and SecurityWe keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain account functionality, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect against fraud or misuse.You can delete your account from within the app. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise personal data associated with your account from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain certain information for legitimate operational reasons, security purposes, fraud prevention, backup processes, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.Because some information may remain temporarily in backups or secure archives, immediate deletion from every system may not always be technically possible. Where that happens, we will limit further use of the retained information and delete it in line with our normal backup and retention practices.If subscriptions or paid features are enabled in the future, subscription and transaction-related records may be retained for longer where required by platform providers, applicable law, accounting rules, tax rules, or financial reporting obligations.We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for using the Services in a secure manner.
11. External LinksThe app may link to external pages, including our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions. These external pages may open in a browser or system web view. External websites and platforms may have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
12. Your Rights and How to Contact UsDepending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have certain rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to:- request access to the personal data we hold about you
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- request deletion of your personal data
- request restriction of processing in certain circumstances

Agreement to These TermsThese Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lexa: Daily Vocab mobile application and any related services we provide through the app (together, the "Services").The Services are provided by Wong Labs Ltd ("we", "us", or "our").By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Services.
2. About the ServicesLexa: Daily Vocab is a mobile application designed to help users learn vocabulary through structured language-learning content, review features, progress tracking, reminders, and premium features.We may update, improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, subject to applicable law.
3. Eligibility and AccountsYou may use the Services only if you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law. If you are under the age of majority in the place where you live, you should use the Services only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.To use the Services, you must create and maintain an account. We may offer sign-in options including Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, and email/password sign-in. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, keep your login credentials secure and confidential, promptly update your information if it changes, and accept responsibility for activity that occurs under your account.You must not impersonate another person, create an account using false information, or access another user's account without permission.You may delete your account from within the app where that functionality is made available. Account deletion may result in loss of access to account-linked data and features, subject to any legal or operational retention obligations described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Restore PurchasesCertain features of the Services require a paid subscription. The Services currently offer an annual auto-renewable subscription made available through Apple's in-app purchase system.All subscription purchases made in the iOS app are processed by Apple, not by us directly. The price, billing cycle, and subscription details shown to you at the time of purchase in the App Store purchase flow will apply.Your subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, or such other period as stated by Apple in the purchase flow or your Apple subscription settings.You may manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple account subscription settings. Deleting the app or deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription.We may, from time to time, offer introductory pricing, promotional pricing, or free trial offers to eligible users. The availability, duration, and eligibility requirements for any such offer will be displayed in the App Store purchase flow or otherwise within the Services at the relevant time.We may change subscription pricing or available offers in the future, subject to applicable law and Apple's platform rules.To the extent your purchase was made through Apple's in-app purchase system, refunds, billing disputes, and related payment matters are generally handled by Apple under Apple's terms and policies.If you previously purchased a subscription through the App Store and need to recover access, you may use the Restore Purchases functionality within the app where available. Restoring purchases does not create a new subscription or extend an existing subscription term; it is intended to reconnect eligible App Store purchases to your access in the Services.Unless expressly stated otherwise in the App Store product page, subscriptions are for the purchasing user only and do not include Family Sharing.
5. Privacy, Analytics, and CommunicationsYour use of the Services is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal data, including account information, analytics, usage data, and notification preferences. By using the Services, you acknowledge that we may process your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.We may collect and use analytics, usage information, technical logs, and account-linked activity data in order to operate, secure, maintain, improve, and understand the performance of the Services. This may include information about how users interact with lessons, content, reminders, review flows, subscription status, and app features. Further details are set out in the Privacy Policy.The Services may allow you to enable push notifications, including reminders, learning prompts, service updates, and other app-related messages. You can manage push notification preferences through your device settings and, where available, in-app settings.We may also send service-related communications that are reasonably necessary to operate your account, provide support, complete transactions, or comply with legal obligations.

Acceptable Use, Intellectual Property, and FeedbackYou agree not to use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorised purpose; copy, scrape, reproduce, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the Services except as permitted by law; interfere with or disrupt the security, integrity, or operation of the Services; attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data; use bots, scripts, or automated means to access or interact with the Services; misuse support channels or submit false or misleading reports; or use the Services in a way that infringes our rights or the rights of others.The Services, including the app, software, design, branding, text, graphics, vocabulary content, lesson structures, examples, databases, and other materials made available through the Services, are owned by us or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws.Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use only. You do not acquire any ownership rights in the Services or any part of them.The Services do not currently allow users to upload or publish public content. 7. Availability, Educational Content, and TerminationThe Services are provided for general educational and informational purposes only. Although we aim to provide useful and high-quality language-learning content, we do not guarantee that all content will always be complete, accurate, current, or suitable for every learner, context, or use case. Your learning outcomes will depend on a range of factors outside our control.We do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. From time to time, we may perform maintenance, release updates, fix issues, add or remove features, or suspend parts of the Services. We are not liable for any loss arising from downtime, interruptions, delays, or changes to the Services, except as required by applicable law.We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, are using the Services unlawfully or fraudulently, your use creates risk, harm, or legal exposure for us, other users, or third parties, or suspension or termination is otherwise necessary to protect the Services or comply with law.You may stop using the Services at any time. Termination of these Terms does not affect any rights or obligations that by their nature should continue after termination.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of LiabilityTo the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not make any guarantee or warranty that the Services will meet your exact requirements or expectations, that the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that any content will always be accurate, complete, or available, or that defects will always be corrected immediately. Nothing in these Terms excludes any non-excludable rights you may have under applicable consumer law.Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.Subject to the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, opportunity, or data arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Services.Subject to applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the total amount you paid to us through the Services in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
